How many minutes in a day?

The question as to how many minutes there are in a whole day can get children quite excited!

And it's actually quite easy to work out.

The learning here comes from the children trying to work this out themselves, without any obvious steer from you on how to do it.

The online pattern builder is really useful here, and allows children to explore patterns in the 60x table (which of course is just like the 6x table).

Those that get there quickly can then be set the task of finding out how many minutes there are in a week! Or how many seconds in a day...
